Bell Fairy
A playful bell spirit
The spirit dwells in the church bell but hates living a boring, predictable life. To liven things up, it often sneaks up to people’s ears and vigorously shakes its head, jingling its bell—considering each successful prank a badge of honor.

I have always been drawn to neutral characters in anime—figures who move through the world freely, unconstrained by rigid expectations or defined identities. I am inspired by their ability to live authentically and find joy in simple moments. In this project, I wanted to create a character who embodies that same sense of freedom—someone who exists beyond restriction and embraces life with a playful spirit.
To express this idea visually, I combined two contrasting elements: religion and absurd humor. The tension between solemn symbolism and playful exaggeration creates a layered character identity, balancing reverence with irreverence. This contrast became the core conceptual foundation of the work.
This project marks my first exploration into 3D animation. Without prior experience in this field, I approached the process from a sculptural perspective, applying my background in sculpture to shape form, structure, and spatial relationships. Through self-directed learning and online tutorials, I developed my understanding of Blender and successfully completed the project. The process challenged me technically and conceptually, and ultimately expanded my creative practice into a new dimension.
